Heyyyyyy :] If you’re not busy, please click HERE for my new bloggieee. Hihi :]
i.ph has been down all the time kasi so I had to find somewhere else to blog. Bye for now, i.ph. Love love you :]
So today I got bored and whipped out the french manicure kit I got a few months back (which I had obviously forgotten about)…
You like? :]
I swear I painted those - it just doesn’t show that much in the picture. Lol ^_^ I like french tips. They look neat. I wouldn’t say it’s simple to do and considering I’m right-handed, the state of my right hand is currently a mess (which is why I didn’t take a picture of it. Haha ^_^). I don’t really have the time (and patience) to do my nails but since it’s summer I guess this is no excuse to neglect them.
And, oh, I just have to show these babies off…
I left my slippers in the Philippines so I had to get new ones here. Got tired of pink slippers so I got these. They remind me of those mushroom thingies in the Super Mario games. Hihi ^_^
Mario - How Do I Breathe
Photo blog for now. I don’t really know how to explain what went on during my holidays. Had a lot of fun, though. I’m really really really missing my family right now. Hopefully I can visit them again soon :] The 18-hour flight was definitely worth it. Even with the turbulence and all, I’d say this is one of the most memorable trips I’ve had.
Isn’t the airport at Dubai so fun?
Corny as it may sound but my Ate is my best friend ^_^
I miss this - you know, having that one person in the world whom you can share your secrets with. And not get embarrassed at doing so :]
The nice thing about being Filipino is that family ties aren’t limited. The branches reach far and wide - from cousins, to second cousins, and so on ^_^ Of course, other nationalities have extended families, too. But they aren’t too close with them the way we are with ours, am I right? ^_^
I wouldn’t know how to describe my Kuya in a single word. But I guess ‘amazing’ would just sum it all up.
Neighbours are fun, too! And they still remember you even after all those years! ^_^
I’m sorry, I just had to post this. Yet another nurse of the family. Haha ^_^ (Ako lang yata ang hindi nurse. Lol)
If I could just bring all of my cousins here, I would. I seriously miss them.
The thing about holidays is that you should immerse yourself in the culture and spirit of the place you’re visiting. The thing about this holiday, on the other hand, is to get away from it all and simply reconnect with loved ones and mend the strings which have been tampered on by distance and time. It felt wonderful being able to talk to each of my family members and just relive the memories. I have to admit we didn’t really go anywhere nice (mainly because everyone was busy due to school and work), hence, the lack of sights in the photos above.
If truth be told, I didn’t need to go anywhere else. I was home. I was happy. And I still am. ^_^

Title: The Good Women of China
Author: Xinran
Rating: 5/5
Book 15 of 100: (The 100+ Reading Challenge)
Synopsis:
For eight groundbreaking years, Xinran presented a nightly radio programme in China called Words on the Night Breeze, during which she invited women to call in and talk about themselves.
This unforgettable book is the story of how Xinran reached out to women across the country, despite the restrictions imposed on Chinese journalists. She reveals stories of inconceivable suffering; forced marriages, sexual abuse, repression…Yet above all her stories reveal how love survives; that despite cruelty, despite politics, the female urge to nurture and cherish remains. This is a unique, painfully moving but redemptive book; a window revealing the lives of Chinese women to the West as never before.
Title: The Case of the Missing Books (from The Mobile Library series)
Author: Ian Sansom
Rating: 4.5/5
Book 14 of 100: (The 100+ Reading Challenge)
Synopsis:
Israel is an intelligent, shy, passionate, sensitive sort of soul: he’s Jewish; he’s a vegetarian; he could maybe do with losing a little weight. And he’s just arrived in Ireland to take up his first post as a librarian. But the library’s been shut down and Israel ends up stranded on the North Antrim coast driving an old mobile library. There’s nice scenery, but 15,000 fewer books than there should be. Who on earth steals that many books? How? When would they have time to read them all? And is there anywhere in this godforsaken place where he can get a proper cappuccino and a decent newspaper? Israel wants answers…
Hi, everyone! Just got back a few days ago.
I miss the Philippines already. I miss my family, my home… and the food, of course. ^_^
Now that I’m back in England, I feel that this is a new start - a time when I can let go of the past and move on. A lot of things have happened during my holidays and although I can never say that everything went well, I am still happy to have spent some time with the people I love the most. This summer has made me realize that I am very blessed to have very brave and considerate parents… and although my siblings and I are hard-headed sometimes and choose to wander off the wrong side of the road, we still manage to hold on.
I will be writing a proper blog entry about my vacation and upload a few photos in the next few days. As of the moment, I am still trying to regain my strength as I lost my appetite on the flight back home. Bye for now!
